Description
The NB671GQ‑Z, made by Monolithic Power Systems (MPS), is a high‑performance DC‑DC converter suited for power management in electronics. It supports a wide input voltage range (nominally 5 V to 22 V) and can deliver up to 6 A continuous and ~9 A in peak conditions. Internally it uses low R₅ₛ(ON) power MOSFETs for efficient conversion. The switching frequency is about 500 kHz. It includes protections such as overcurrent protection (OCP), overvoltage protection (OVP), undervoltage protection (UVP), thermal shutdown, soft start, and an output discharge function.
The output voltage can be programmed from 0.604 V to 5.5 V via external resistor feedback networks. Operating ambient and junction temperatures span –40 °C to +125 °C. The device is packaged in a QFN‑16 “Power VFQFN” style with an exposed thermal pad to aid heat dissipation.
Typical applications include point‑of‑load regulation in embedded systems, power supplies for processors, FPGAs, memory, telecommunications gear, and other systems requiring efficient step‑down conversion with compact footprint and protection features.
