Description

SY8286 – High-Performance 6 A Synchronous Buck Regulator with Integrated LDO / Bypass Option

The SY8286 series (such as SY8286DQNC) is a compact, high‑efficiency synchronous step-down DC/DC converter capable of delivering 6 A continuous and 12 A peak output current. It supports a wide input voltage range (typically 4 V to 23 V) and is tailored for applications requiring robust power conversion in space-constrained designs.

Its architecture uses an instant‑PWM control scheme to maintain fast transient response. The built-in MOSFET switches have very low on-resistances (top switch ~38 mΩ, bottom switch ~19 mΩ), minimizing conduction losses. The regulator includes a 400 µs soft-start, programmable valley current limit, over-current latch-off, over-voltage latch-off, thermal shutdown, and under-voltage lockout.

In many variants, the SY8286 also provides an integrated 5 V LDO with bypass switch and independent enable control, enabling flexibility for auxiliary rails or control logic. A Power-Good (PG) signal and output discharge function are present for system monitoring and clean shutdown.

Thanks to its compact QFN 3 × 3 mm package and rich protection feature set, the SY8286 is well suited for notebook, display, embedded, and portable system power rails.
