Description
The MP2979A from Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) is a dual-loop, digital, multi-phase PWM controller optimized for high-current, high-performance CPU, GPU, and ASIC power supply applications. It supports up to 8 configurable phases per loop (16 total) and provides fully digital control and telemetry via the PMBus v1.3 interface.
The device integrates high-accuracy digital control loops, adaptive voltage positioning (AVP), fast transient response, and power-saving phase-shedding modes. Built-in fault protection, including overvoltage, overcurrent, and overtemperature, ensures system reliability.
The MP2979A is compliant with Intel VR13, VR13-HC, IMVP8, and AMD SVI3 specifications, making it suitable for next-generation data center, server, and desktop processor power delivery.
