Description
The RT6585B is a high-performance power management IC that combines two synchronous buck converter controllers and two linear regulators (LDOs) into a single compact package. It supports an input voltage range from about 5 V to 25 V and enables flexible output voltages for each channel (Channel 1 from ~2 V to 5.5 V; Channel 2 from ~2 V to 4 V) together with fixed 5 V and 3.3 V LDO outputs, each capable of delivering around 100 mA.
Its architecture is optimized for compact system-designs — featuring a constant-current ripple control scheme for fast load-step response (on the order of 100 ns), a high maximum duty ratio (over 98 %), automatic transition to diode-emulation mode at light load, as well as built-in protections like over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current and thermal shutdown.
Housed in a small 3 × 3 mm WQFN-20 (20-lead) package, the RT6585B is ideal for notebook computers, battery-powered devices, ultra-compact power supplies, and embedded systems where space, efficiency and multi-rail support are important. With its integrated dual buck converters plus 5 V/3.3 V LDOs and startup sequencing support, it simplifies board layout, reduces component count and enhances reliability in modern power architectures.
