Description
The BQ07A (also known as BQ24707A) is a high-efficiency, SMBus-controlled battery charger IC designed for lithium-ion battery packs in notebook and portable devices. It integrates a synchronous NMOS-NMOS buck converter and supports 1 to 4 series Li-ion or Li-polymer cells.
The device allows the system host to program the charge voltage, charge current, and input current limit via SMBus. It includes programmable switching frequency (615 kHz, 750 kHz, 885 kHz), real-time analog current limiting via the ILIM pin, and built-in safety features such as over-voltage, over-current, and short-circuit protection.
